December Meeting - Annual Guild Christmas Party!!!

A Letter from the Prez...

Wow! This Holiday Season came fast! Tomorrow is our annual Guild Christmas Party at Grace Methodist Church. Our room location will be downstairs. A greeter will be at the door to help direct you. We will be meeting at 6:30pm. Remember to bring food to share and your own table setting. The drinks are on us...

In addition to surprises from the DMKG we will have the gift exchange for anyone who wishes to participate. This is stirctly voluntary. If you give yarn, we do ask that you include enough yarn to complete the project, such as, 2 skeins of sock yarn, enough yarn for a scarf, etc... The value of the yarn should be $6 per skein. If you bring a gift, you receive a gift. A separate area will be set up for you to leave your gift when you arrive. Just check the greeter at the door and they can help you locate the gift exchange area. Happy Knitting Nancy A.

The guild will also be collecting mittens for the Mitten Tree. Delivery of items collected by the guild will be made on December 3rd. The library will be happy to take items up until Christmas if you need a little more time.

Bring your knitting and come knit with us.
Visitors are always welcome!
Happy Knitting!

Warm Hands for the Holidays!

Once again the Des Moines Knitting Guild will be knitting mittens for the Mitten Tree at the Urbandale Public Library. All mittens and hats from the mitten tree will be donated by the Urbandale Library to a local charity. What a simple way to get into the Holiday spirit and give back to the community!
The guild will be collecting mittens from members at the December meeting. If you can not make the meeting, mittens can be taken to the library.
Anyone is welcome to knit mittens for the tree and drop them off at the Urbandale Library. They also welcome store bought mittens and hats. All sizes of hats, mittens, and gloves are accepted. Donations will be accepted at the Urbandale Library December 1 - 28 and will be distributed to the Urbandale Schools through the Urbandale Caring Corp.
